8 Apps That Turn Saved Reels and TikToks into Notes, Recipes and Plans (2026)
In short
- There's now a whole category of apps that take a Reel or TikTok from the share sheet and turn it into organized text. They differ mainly in what they turn it into.
- For places and trips, map-first apps (Ordo, ReelPin, ReelToDo, Sorti) are strongest. For recipe cards, Clera and Simmr are focused options.
- For step-by-step plans and AI agents, ORANO turns actionable saves into ordered tasks and connects them to ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor. Ordo also offers a beta MCP connection.
- For a long-form knowledge base (podcasts, long YouTube, spaced repetition), Recall is a different but relevant choice.
- We make ORANO, so we've stuck to facts from each product's own website or store listing, checked in October 2026, and listed apps alphabetically.
Two years ago the answer to "how do I organize my saved Reels?" was "make Instagram Collections". Now there's a whole category of apps that take a Reel or TikTok from your share sheet, watch or read it, and give you back something organized: notes, a recipe, a pin on a map, or a plan.
They aren't interchangeable. The real difference is what each app turns a save into. A travel-planning app and a recipe app can look identical in the App Store and be useless for each other's jobs.
Disclosure: we make ORANO. Every product fact below comes from that product's own website or app-store listing as of October 2026. Apps are listed alphabetically, not ranked. Features and prices change, so check the listing before you commit.

Clera
Clera turns Instagram Reels into structured notes through the share sheet. The note adapts to the content: recipes become ingredients and a numbered method, travel Reels become places and tips, and tutorials become numbered steps. Each note links back to its Reel, and saved summaries are searchable. It's in beta on iOS and Android and free for testers, with a paid tier planned.
Good fit if: you mostly save Instagram Reels and want clean, readable notes. Less ideal if: you save from several platforms.
ORANO
ORANO is ours. It takes Reels, TikToks, YouTube videos and Shorts, X posts, articles, PDFs, GitHub repositories and uploaded videos. It reads the speech, the frames, the on-screen text and the source context together, which matters for the many Reels that put the information on screen over music. Its output adapts to the content: actionable saves (recipes, routines, tutorials, business tactics) become a project with ordered steps, while explainers and recommendations keep their key takeaways without made-up tasks. You can chat across everything you've saved.
What sets it apart is the step after saving. A project can be handed to ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or a local model as one link, and ORANO MCP ($5/month) gives compatible agents read-only access to your whole library.
Good fit if: your saves are things you want to do, or you work with AI assistants. Less ideal if: you mainly want a map of places or shopping lists. It has no map view or price tracking, and other apps here do those better. MCP currently needs a client that accepts a custom Authorization header, and there's no one-click OAuth yet.
Ordo
Ordo sorts Reels, TikToks, Shorts and links into categories automatically: places, products, food and recipes, film and TV, fitness, music and books. Recipes become cards with ingredients and steps, products get pros and cons, and saved places show on a map with details. It's free to download without an account, on iOS and Android. Ordo also has a beta read-only MCP connection that signs in through OAuth. It's the closest alternative to ORANO for using saves with AI agents.
Good fit if: you save a mix of places, products and recipes and want them auto-sorted for free.
Recall
Recall is a broader AI knowledge base rather than a Reels app. It summarizes YouTube videos, podcasts, PDFs, articles and social video, links them in a knowledge graph, supports chat and spaced repetition, and exports to Markdown. It runs on the web, as browser extensions, and on iOS and Android.
Good fit if: you learn from long-form content and want review and recall tools. Less ideal if: your saves are mostly short social videos you want to act on quickly.
For a closer look at the two, see ORANO vs Recall.
ReelPin
ReelPin has the widest source list here. It covers Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Reddit, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google Maps and travel and food sites, plus "any other link". It reads the audio and on-screen text and writes up a summary, key facts, people and action items. Named places drop onto a map. The write-up stays even if the Reel is taken down, and collections can be shared by link. It's free to start, on iOS and Android.
Good fit if: you save from many apps and want places mapped automatically.
ReelToDo
ReelToDo focuses on turning social inspiration into real-world plans. Paste a Reel, TikTok or Short and it pulls out the location, category and date, places it on an interactive map, and lets you add it to your calendar with notes and collections. It's available in English and French on iOS and Android.
Good fit if: you save restaurants, trips and things to do.
Simmr
Simmr (iPhone, iPad and Apple-silicon Macs) turns cooking Reels into recipe cards with ingredients, amounts, steps and a one-tap shopping list. Advice Reels become "wisdom notes" that call out books, people and concepts. You get free weekly saves, and more are available as in-app purchases.
Good fit if: you're on Apple devices and mostly save recipes.
Sorti
Sorti auto-sorts Instagram Reels, posts and Stories, TikToks, Pinterest pins, screenshots and links into shopping (with price-drop tracking), places, recipes and outfits. It offers search by meaning rather than exact caption text, and keeps extracted content if the original is deleted. It says it has no subscription or premium tier.
Good fit if: you save products and outfits as much as places and food.
How to choose
- Mostly places and trips: ReelToDo, ReelPin, Ordo or Sorti, because map views matter here.
- Mostly recipes: Simmr (Apple) or Clera. ORANO, Ordo and Sorti also handle recipes alongside other content.
- Products and shopping: Sorti for price tracking, Ordo for pros and cons.
- Tutorials, advice and ideas you want to act on: ORANO, which turns them into ordered steps.
- Using saves with ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor: ORANO (handoff link and MCP) or Ordo (beta MCP).
- Long videos, podcasts and studying: Recall.
A simple test works for any of them. Take the five Reels you most regret not acting on, share them to the app, and see which output you'd actually open again next week.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best app to organize saved Instagram Reels?
It depends on what you save. For places and travel, a map-first app like Ordo, ReelPin, ReelToDo or Sorti fits best. For recipes, Clera or Simmr. For turning tutorials, advice and ideas into step-by-step plans you can hand to an AI agent, ORANO. For a broader knowledge base with long videos and podcasts, Recall.
Is there a free app that turns Reels into notes?
Several have free options. Sorti says it has no subscription or premium tier, Ordo is free to download, Clera is free during its beta, and ReelPin, Simmr and ORANO are free to start with paid options. Check each store listing for current limits.
Which Reel apps work with TikTok and YouTube too?
ORANO, Ordo, ReelPin, ReelToDo and Sorti all list TikTok among their sources. ORANO, Ordo, ReelPin and ReelToDo also mention YouTube (Ordo and ReelToDo specifically mention Shorts). Clera currently focuses on Instagram Reels.
Which apps let ChatGPT or Claude use my saved Reels?
ORANO offers a project handoff link and a read-only MCP server ($5/month) for agents that accept a custom Authorization header. Ordo has a beta read-only MCP connection that signs in with OAuth. Others can export or share text that you paste in manually.
What happens to my notes if the original Reel is deleted?
Apps that save extracted text keep the useful part even if the post disappears. ReelPin and Sorti say this explicitly. ORANO keeps the summary, takeaways and steps in your library.
